Bread For All Food Pantry
Bread For All has served neighbors from its southeast Austin locales on a weekly basis since September 2013. We serve upwards of 600 unique households every month, the equivalent of 2,500 people. Our food pantry is not the main source but a supplemental source of nutrition for the people we serve. Typically, neighbors will receive 40-65 pounds of food, roughly the equivalent of $75 to $125. This affords them the ability to more easily pay for rent, gas, bills and other monthly expenses. This type of distribution – saving recipients an average of $100 – is incredibly impactful for low-income individuals and families.
While we’re happy to serve, it’s disconcerting that food insecurity in Austin has grown exponentially since the Coved pandemic. We now serve 3-4 times as many households as we did compared to the first few years of BFA’s existence.

If You Want to Donate
Food, diapers, and financial donations are always welcome. Preferred foods for donation include plant proteins like peanut butter and beans (dried or canned), and pasta, canned vegetables and canned meats like tuna. To schedule a food donation drop off, please contact us to make an appointment.
Monetary donations allow us to stock our food pantry with supplementary items, not available through the Central Texas Food Bank. For information on how to make tax-deductible donations, go to our Donations Page.
Become a Collection Organizer
If your church, office, or social group is interested in collecting helpful quantities of diapers and non-perishable food items (on a somewhat frequent basis), we are interested, too. Before starting, please contact us to see what is truly needed.
